T420,Win7Ultimate and Google Gmail Talk/Voice

Installed a new x64 Win 7 Ultimate to a T420

All Lenovo drivers were installed, Device Manager shows no unidentified devices.

When logging on to Gmail and trying to make a phone call, message shows up that no microphone detected - what am I missing ?

Google Voice and Talk was and is installed.

Control Panel. Sounds. Recording shows No audio devices installed

Online Lenovo Help says I need to connect a device to enable mic -- true ?
