Inverter for Z60m

#1 Post by jalogik » Mon Aug 20, 2012 7:35 am

Hi,
my LCD (1680x1050) in z60m stop working. So i buy new model, but with different fru: 42T0423. It's functional, but the backlight is not working.
I read (unfortunately too late :-)) somewhere, that inverter shouldn't run without backlight connected - when I transfer files from disassembled ntb,
I do just this, so I think, the non-functional backlight is due damaged inverter. The LEDs on inverter are functional, but the backligh,
both on old and new, is not functional now (and on old it was Ok even after disasembling).
So can give me two advices?
Is my suspicions to inverter right?
Can I buy any inverter listed in maitenace manual? Old inverter has FRU 39T5635, I found this one to buy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... TM:US:1123
with different FRU.

Thanks, Matyas

Welcome to the forum!

I believe that you might have blown one or more fuses on the motherboard. Try replacing the inverter, but if that doesn't yield results, you'll have to repair or replace the planar.

Good luck.
