Any body put a sata ssd in a T43P?

#1 Post by malch » Fri Aug 31, 2012 1:40 am

Samsung 128 GB 830 is on sale now. 200$ is a lot to spend if it doesnt work.
Any recommendations other than it's not worth it. Win7

You're paying through the nose!
Talk about value for money:
Newegg has an Adata 256GB SSD for $149.99 shipped (after $10.- MIR).
And a Corsair Neutron 128GB SSD for $104.99 shipped.
And an OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD for $74.99 shipped (after $10.- MIR).
And an OCZ Vertex Plus R2 60GB for an unbelievable $29.99 shipped (after $20.- MIR).

And to top it off: a 2TB 2.5" SATA 3 rotational hard drive with 64MB cache for $209.99
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

I did:

And yes, do some shopping around...there are great deals to be had on SSDs these days.

So I took both your advices.
Bought a Kingston 128GB ssdnow.
The total windows experience is 4.1 for cpu and 7.0 for"disk transfer rate"
Only disconcerting thing about the install, it never asked me how to partition and format the raw ssd drive.
More to follow. Plus if I press the xx xkey it makes far more xxxes than I press.
I'm going to press that which shall not be named. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
P.S. This is written and presented on the new T43P sata ssd win7 comp!

And now I discover that the port replicator kills the post. Unplugged the keyboard from replicator and instant post.
More troubleshooting tomorrow. :)
