wireless & bluetooth hardware question

#1 Post by jmaxwell » Sat Sep 01, 2012 11:31 am

Hi.

Is the wireless & bluetooth connectivity in Thinkpads removable like a card or is it installed on the motherboard? Or does this differ amongst Thinkpads?

Thanks.

Wireless & bluetooth are expansion cards on most ThinkPads. There are a variety of connections and locations, but most can be removed or just disable if you are not going to use them. What model are you interested in?
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

I was thinking about a T41. I heard that the T's were good. My computers stay stationary so I don't really need wireless. Plus I'll probably take other cards out too or disable them - so that the memory is not limited. Which ThinkPad would you suggest - in terms of old ThinkPads?
