ThinkVision monitors LCD vs LED

#1 Post by cadillacmike68 » Sun Sep 02, 2012 5:02 pm

I'm also thinking of bringing my wife out of the CRT era (we have nice crisp large IBM G-series monitors, but they are bulky and heavy). I see Thinkvision 22" wide in both LED and LCD, which is better for image quality and longevity? Thanks in advance.

I'm on the road or thrown out here a lot, so it doesn't matter for me.

You're talking about LCD monitors with CCFL or LED backlight.

AFAIK, CCFL gives better colour re-production though the gap has narrowed significantly. LED, OTOH, promises longer operation life and probably more stable brightness over its life. (not sure, try googling about it)

Cheers.
