X61s 12-cell battery vs tpsmapi readout

#1 Post by std » Mon Sep 10, 2012 11:28 am

Hello,

I bought 12-cell L-shaped battery for my X61s (eBay.com, origin China).
The sticker reads 14.4 V, 7800 mAh (112.3 Wh).

However the tpsmapi version 0.40 battery design_capacity reads 89280 mWh, which makes battery's real capacity 6200 mAh. I'd like to compare this with someone else's readout or hear about your experience.
FWIW, I ran this on Debian 6.0.5 stable "squeeze", with linux kernel version 2.6.32.

Thank you,

I suggest you to wait until the 6th charging cycle to check the power parameters. Once upon a time, I got a new battery, it has the same problem, and it even shows that my battery only has 72% capability of the original one when the charging cycle counts to the 3rd. However, everything becomes normal after the 6th cycle...

By the way, the real capability parameter is usually smaller than the given number AFAIK.

Good luck,
Xiaodong

You should use the "Post reply" on the left bottom, under the last message, rather than the 'quote' button.
There's no need to read the same stuff twice, is there now?

Thank you for the advice, Xiaodong. Next time I'll give it a try.
I had returned the battery before I read your comment.
