higher res screen for x40/41?

i think i read somewhere that there was a higher res screen somewhere that fits the x40/41 series of laptops. is there such thing or am i just dreaming. this was about 2 years ago when i read it but cant find anything on it right now.

Well, you could mod it with a SXGA+ panel from X60/61 tablet...but there's going to be a lot of sweating involved...at the very least.

Actually, much more than that. The OP is looking at putting an SXGA+ LCD from X60/61 tablets into an X40/41.

This has certainly been done before. There are basically 3 steps:
1. Modify the SXGA+ panel so it physically fits in the lid;
2. Make a new LCD cable / adapter cable to plug into the panel;
3. Flash a modded BIOS on the X40/41 to support SXGA+ resolution.

This process is comparable to putting an SXGA+ panel into an X60/61 non-tablet, except that a proper modded BIOS for X40/41 is much more difficult to track down.

yea thats what i was looking to do.
if only i can find a good article that states what to do but yes that bios is going to be hard to track down.
ill have to do more research.

it was fun swapping a x41 mobo into my x40 (im attached to my x40)
