t43 configuration question - please help

I just bought the the T43 2687EJU with an educational discount. It won't ship out for a month, so I can change my mind, I think. I have a couple of questions regarding a 15" screen with Flexview. I currently have an older Acer notebook with similar dimensions but a little bit thinner. I think I would prefer a 14", but I fine with the size of my current notebook. My concern is that when I play some DVDs or games on my notebook it sometimes appears too dark (in some of the scenes).
How much does the Flexview really help with brightness and contrast? I've read mixed opinions on this forum.
Also are the ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL V3200 - 128 MB graphics good for gaming?

i don't know about gaming (i try to limit my time wasting to a game of freecell a day ) but the flexview display is much superior to the 14 inch displays..

also, if the 2687EJU has 128meg of video then it should have also 1200x1600 and that is really a great display..
personal opinion as this is what i use..
