computer did not see ativa dvd-r disk

but then a tdk cd-r went real nice

thinkpad t60 2007, windows 7 32bit

Over the years, on various PCs, I've had the same experience. Lately, I've had good luck with Sony CDs/DVDs, although, with flash drives & external HDDs, I've not had as much need to burn CDs/DVDs any more.

The laser in your optical drive may be on the way out. They don't last forever, and your system is now five T series generations behind current.

update - i got a replacement - it still does not read DVD's
