Will T400 6475-VCZ Run AutoCAD LT 2013?

#1 Post by emtee3511 » Wed Sep 19, 2012 11:10 am

I put together a T400 for a friend ('put together' = found inexpensive machine and added 160gb ssd, 8gb ram, W7 Ultimate.) Her only need besides email and internet is the ability to download and run AutoCAD LT 2013. I don't know anything about AutoCAD needs, but she 'thinks' the main need is hard drive space. She currently runs AutoCAD on a several-years-old Dell and also a several-years-old desktop.

My bottom line question is will the machine I am giving her have the ability to run AutoCAD LT 2013? These are the machine specs:

Intel Core2 Duo P8400 Penryn 2.26ghz
160gb Intel SSD (SSDSA2Ml60G2GN)
8gb DDR3-PC3 8500
14.1" 1280x800 LCD
Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN
Intel 4500MHD
(WWAN Upgradeable)
Bluetooth
Camera
CDRW/DVD
6 cel Li-ion
Windows 7 Ultimate 64

Thank you for any advice you may have for me :?

According to http://usa.autodesk.com/autocad-lt/system-requirements/ , that computer should have no trouble at all running AutoCAD LT 2013. The system requirements are talking about Pentium 4 with SSE2 instructions, which is a couple of generations older than the C2D. The 8GB of RAM and SSD will make it fly on that machine. I would say you have a good match up there.

Thank you so much jayton4 for the clear answer -- that's what I was guessing/hoping, but I very much appreciate your taking the time to confirm that for me and my friend -- she's a 'non-geek' and I'm a 'geek-wannabe' -- we both appreciate having that information :thumbs-UP:
