Flexview Again

#1 Post by The Weissman » Tue Apr 26, 2005 10:38 am

I know this subject has been touched upon several times in recent weeks, but indulge me this as the proud new owner of a T42 (2379DXU), which has a 15" Flexview display: NICE!

I'm sitting in front of my T42 and a Dell 2001FP 21" LCD display. What a difference! The Dell looks like a 60-watt bulb, compared to the FlexView's 100 watts. The Dell looks like ordinary car headlights, compared to the FlexView's bright white halogen lamps.

As a lot of you know from a previous thread, initially I was reluctant to buy this laptop, since my employer provides me one (an aging A30). But I spend so much time in front of the laptop, I thought I might enjoy a T42, even if it meant spending my own money and assuming the liability if it gets lost or stolen. I was also concerned that 1400x1050 might be too strenuous on these aging eyes.

I am here to tell you, no regrets! This laptop is a joy to behold, and a joy to use, and the Flexview display really makes this laptop for me!

I have cleanly removed the "Designed for XP" and "Centrino" stickers from the wrist rest and . . . oops, better get back to work!

Thanks for the info. My 2379DXU should arrive next week. I had the same eye strain concerns as you.

Congrats Steve! Glad to read the Flexview display is working out for you after your initial concerns.
