T60 -> Samsung SSD 830 Series 128GB 2.5" / 256GB

Ive got a T60. Can i install the above SSD without any problems ?
Do i need to buy any cables ect. if it can be installed?
Ive got the chipset that only supports 3GB ram.

Yes you can.
No extra stuff required.
Don't install XP, it's not SSD-friendly, but use W7 instead.

I'm running that SSD on my machine. No cables/adapters required (I bought the cheaper bare drive version). Works great! Fresh OS install always a good idea.

nahh .. XP works just fine. Same SSD is going into my T61 soon as well

Well, sure, it may work "just fine" but XP and Vista do not support TRIM. Windows 7 does.

Should i change anything in bios regarding achi mode? or is comp. sata mode fine? before installing win7.
I dont know what the diffenrence is.

Sorry to bring up an old thread BUT i'll be putting the 830 SSD into my T61 as the main drive and want to use Ubuntu as that drives OS with my Spinpoint M8 HDD in the ultrabay running W7 OS, anyways my question is if Ubuntu supports TRIM ???
