T61p What / Where is Bluetooth PIN?

Have a T61p resale unit purchased last year. For the first time I'm trying to pair with a Phone. Phone sees the Thinkpad and asks for 'Numeric Code'. I've tried 0000, 00000, 000000, 1234, 12345, 123456, and the Power on Password. NOTHING. Some forums suggest a random set of numbers, well that's obviously been tried. Nowhere in the Bluetooth dialogue boxes or User Manuals, or other forums does it explain how to recover or replace this numeric code. Anybody know the answer to this mystery? Bluetooth in confirmed 'ON' on the Thinkpad (Fn + F5), also interesting the PC Bluetooth search doesn't see the phone setting 2 inches away?

First check that the laptop is ‘discoverable’ in the Bluetooth menu, although it sounds like it is already.

Then put the phone in pairing mode and on the laptop go to:
Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Device

When the laptop ‘sees’ the phone, select it and the next page should generate the pairing code you’ll enter into the phone.
