Change Ownership of x230

#1 Post by house kitten » Wed Sep 26, 2012 3:04 pm

I have an x230 that is to be delivered tomorrow and I have already sold it. I would like to put the laptop in the new owners name. Is this possible without calling lenovo?

You can do this under System Properties, Computer Name tab and click on Change.

Personally I'd restore to factory default and let the buyer do all of the initial setup.

I haven't even received it yet and do not plan on opening the box. Just removing label and put new shiping lable.

I just want to make sure new owner has a warranty.

If that's the case I wouldn't do anything to it. A copy of the sales receipt will be more than suffice and I'd let the other person register the laptop with Lenovo.

Warranty follows the machine (actually the serial number), NOT the owner.

You do not need to do anything. Just ship it to whoever bought it from you.
