I've just got a very cheap X60s with still over five hours of battery life, 8 cell.
Do the six cell batteries jut out at all at the back? (I'm not so bothered about the bottom.)
Additionally if anyone could guess well, when I actually need the battery, writing and stuff in a cafe usually with just a Linux text editor, how long might a six cell battery last, brightness down to about its second or third lowest setting? I would 'do the math' but it's not a completely new battery I've got.
Thanks.
6 cell battery questions
Re: 6 cell battery questions
The six-cell batteries do not stick out of the back. Capacity = 14.4V x 2.6Ah = 37.44Wh. That will yield 2-3 hours, depending on your machine's power consumption of 18W (high side) to 12W (low side). It is unlikely that you will get an X60s to be enjoyably usable drawing less than 10W ... so, as you describe your usage, let's say close to 3 hours for you.
