Password Manager

#1 Post by D3c » Tue Apr 26, 2005 4:21 pm

Hi,

I got my T42 today and I was so happy about the fingerprint-reader and password manager untill I read this in the help file:

"The IBM Client Security Password Manager does not support Netscape Navigator: You must use Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer to utilize the functionality of the IBM Password Manager program. The Password Manager software does not support Netscape Navigator."

Isn't there a way to make the password manager support Firefox?

Not in my experience - and in the little testing I did it didn't work all that well with IE either.

Regarding Firefox support - IBM is really dropping the ball on this issue IMO - but I suspect that most users of password manager (and thinkpads in general) are corporate weenies :-) who are all using IE anyways.

Yeah, but I want to use my fingerprint for logging onto Gmail and other sites. Is this the wrong way to do it?

Here's some useful reading from the Mozilla boards:
