seagate external HD?

at an electronics place by where I live there is a 100GB external segate HD...does any one have any experence with these?? or any external HD's in general? the setup is only like $169.00 which seems like a good deal. I'm lookin for some opinions though...the deal ends soon too...so anything quick would be awsome...I googled it and couldn't find to much info...

well, no one knew about this product I guess...I ended up buying it.

I transfered a little over 20GB's of data from my desktop to the drive in about 45 minutes...not blazing fast...but, it's better than writting a few dvd's.

the program that came with it works pretty well for creating setting up the drive the way I wanted...but, it had a little scroll bar for selecting the partition size it work's a lot faster than the admin tool on XP though.

if anyone else needs a large yet compact storage device for your laptop or anything eles I'd suggest this. it looks cool and works like a charm so far.

Seagate is a great product...I am not familiar with that exact external drive. I normally buy oem drives and put them in the housings I allready have. I believe Seagate is still the only drive maker with a 5 year warranty...at least of the big guys.

I have always been a Maxtor fan as well..until just recently...I bought a 10 pak of 200gb drives and 8 out of the 10 were doa.
