IBM Password Manager w/ Firefox

#1 Post by BOHICA » Tue Apr 26, 2005 8:37 pm

IBM's Client Security Password Manager is a very handy tool, but unfortunately it seems only to work with the Windows-based Microsoft Explorer, rather than with the reportedly more secure Mozilla Firefox. Is there some tweak that will permit it to function with Firefox?

Any thoughts appreciated.

As is reportedly you said, it might not be the truth. With security in mind, IE works fine for you, otherwise, you can still have great chances in getting security problem. Secure or not mostly depends on the way you use it.

I've been using IE for years, even without virusscan software, nor firewall installed, my system just keeps clean. (I once ran virusscan software inspecting the whole system, and nothing found.)

I *highly* recommend roboform (roboform.com) as a website password manager. I actually can't live without it :)

Not only does it take you to the exact login page and fill your username and password, but it encrypts everything with a single-sign-on password so you only have to remember one password. You can store your data on a usb key if you use multiple computers. It'll allow up to 10 passwords for free, and requires payment for anything above and beyond.

It really destroys Password Manger for websites, IMHO. I *might* consider Password Manager if I had a ton of windows-based logins, and I don't. I could see it being useful in that scenario.
