External 24" LCD for Thinkpad T510? (1600x900 please!)

#1 Post by lparsons » Fri Oct 05, 2012 2:07 pm

Does anyone have a recommendation for an external LCD for my T510? Specifically I'd like to get a 24" to use at work. I ask this here because I would like a 24" that matches the max resolution of my T510 (1600x900). I have looked at quite a few different LCDs in the 24" class and I haven't found one yet that does 1600x900; I have one on my desk that does 1440x900 or 1600x1200 (or 1920x1200 for max) but it does not support 1600x900.

Basically what I want to do is just use the LCD as a large clone of my existing screen, and to make my life a little easier I want it to run the same resolution so that it should just come up and go. 1600x900 doesn't need to be the max resolution of the LCD, it just needs to be a supported resolution. So far I have had no luck on this.

It does seem to be a common resolution for 20" monitors. Has anyone found it for a 24"?

Only 20" monitors have 1600x900. I don't know which 1920x1080 monitors support 1600x900.
