Windows 7 T60 No Windows Aero No Wireless No Norton

The other night I experienced something new. I went to my website design course logged onto my schools wifi everything was great. The end of the class I disconnected and shut down. I got home started my T60 up and it connected to my normal wireless but, everything crashed just about then. My desktop window management service (i believe thats the name) crashed and would stay without aero for a while come back for a minute and crash again. Also Wireless was dead I could not even get it to find any connections around and their is at least 10 that I usually pick up. also norton was going crazy. Now I keep my computers in top shape no viruses no malware. I did read somewhere that this has happened before to people but couldn't find the posts again. Hopefully someone can help me with this. I already reformatted but if it happened once there's a good chance it could happen again.

The word Norton sticks out here as a huge RED FLAG.
What are the type and specs of your machine?
