T400 loose battery

I've used the battery for 3 years without any problems. But lately my 9-cell battery is kinda loose. When I move the laptop while being on, the battery often looses contact and the laptop shuts off. My 4-cell battery doesn't have this issue. I've tried cleaning the connection, but to no avail. What else can I do?

I have had this issue on a T400, an X60s and an X31. I slipped a couple of small pieces of cardboard in with the battery to tighten it up. That worked well during the times I owned the respective laptops. YMMV.
