x201, Good deal or not?

#1 Post by redsb3 » Fri Oct 12, 2012 2:26 pm

I am looking at an x201t that would really fit my needs pretty well. It has the i7 640LM CPU, 4GB of ram, decent 8 cell battery with a 128GB SSD as the main drive. Is has onsite warranty till 3/2013 and is in excellent shape, probably a 9 out of 10. Screen is perfect. Included is the stylus and the ultradock with DVD/RW, as well as recovery media. He wants $700 for it, you think that is out of line or a good deal?

Hard to give an opinion on value but IMO, that seems a bit high for me. Since you are Stateside, I'd look at the offering from Lenovo's Outlet store. I'd also see what other units are selling at on Ebay just to get a rough idea.

Certainly not a steal but it also doesn’t seem terribly overpriced when compared to recent ebay sales – most of which didn’t have a SSD.
IMO, not a bad deal if it is the machine you want. Can't hurt to make him an offer.

If it has a Samsung SSD I would say it's a decent deal.
Definitely not cheap, but I'd say it's a decent deal. Especially since it has included U/B in the deal.
Pen should be a price cutter if it wasn't there, so existence of pen should neither be a plus nor minus.
