How can I swap the Ctrl key and Fn key in T40p?

I often press the wrong key, such as ctrl+c or ctrl+V on this laptop.
It seems that this is the final answer.

keys can be reprogrammed can they not..
all, that is, except for the Fn key.. right..?

Yep, but the Fn key is one the keys that OP needs swapped around...so he's out of luck...

Traditionally this swap is done with a BIOS mod. A 2-second Google search did not reveal such a modded BIOS available, so the OP is probably out of luck.

Off-topic: A BIOS option for swapping Ctrl and Fn is available in some newer ThinkPads, right? Since when was such an option included?

I think that it was included with the first Core i models.

With Middleton's BIOS this option is also available on R61/T61/X61 series which have C2D (Merom and Penryn).
