Gauging Interest in my old inventory

#1 Post by baisley » Sat Oct 20, 2012 4:54 pm

Hello Everyone,

I use to participate and sell on the forum a few years ago. Right at the peak of doing this side business, I went thru several life events all at one (Surgeries - loss of job - few other things) I basically closed up my spare room which was my "shop". I am finally going back in and cleaning out my stuff.

I have a TON of T4X stuff. I have purged stuff I felt had no value like plastics but, I have a bunch of the following items for T41 T42 T43:

New factory boards, to include P series items
Repaired Boards - (BGA Repaired)
CDRW & DVD Drives
Power Supplies
Keyboards in all grades (US ONLY) To Include the Thailand Manufactured ones that folks like

I also have around 80 plus LCD's for T4X and T6X boxes.

I am trying to gauge interest / value in the items. I would like to see the stuff go to people who are into the Thinkpads. I really enjoyed working with these units as well as working with the folks I did back in the day on this forum. There is no sense in me holding onto this stuff. I plan on keeping a hand full of stuff / laptops for my collection and purge the rest.

I might also part with my Metcal QX2 Rework Station. This is what I was using to reflow the BGA's back in the day. This unit is still used in SMT rework. It has very little use on it.

If I can ask for folks input on what value I could pull from some of this stuff.

Thanks for your time in advance,

Kevin

You've got a lot of interesting stuff there.

Personally, if you could PM me the list of the screens that you have available (15" only) I'd be very grateful.

Brand new boards will also find a buyer, sooner or later. I might be in the market for a couple of T43p ones myself.

If you make up a list, come with some type of pricing, you're likely find buyers.

No idea on the rework unit, though, someone else will have to chime in on that one...

I might be interested in some screens (either 14" or 15"), boards, etc. Just depends on what kind of deal I can get, as I don't really need any of the stuff either. It's just that I've accumulated a few units over the years that are missing one thing or another.

Doubt that I would have any interest in the re-work station, though, not really interested in getting into that kind of thing.
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E

I'm probably priced out of the competition, but I have a general interest in 15.4" T61-compatible parts and accessories if you're trying to shift stuff.

If the shipping isn't entirely obnoxious I'd be interested in two or more T4x boards with the 9600 gfx. Its definite for me (15" T42) and I'm 90% sure my sis (15" T42) wants one. Gonna check with my mates. We're all running T4x's of various sizes and models but we all have 7500 gfx. Might need a few bricks too.

EDIT: Also, I'd kill for a 2.1ghz P-M...

I could possibly be interested in a 15" IDTech-sourced SXGA+ or UXGA LCD.

Depending on the results of swapping LCDs between a couple of T42s, I might be in the market for a mobo.

I have an X31 with a line down the screen 1/3 of the way in from the right.
If a new screen would fix that, I could use one. Maybe I need the inverter or something other than the screen. I don't know.

I'm missing one of the touchpad keys on my T41. It came off when I was replacing the palmrest.
I didn't see a clasp or rod. I think I broke a plastic piece that a rod is supposed to go under. Maybe I need the whole keyboard to make it right?

Hello,

I could use an XGA or SXGA+ screen for a T60 - I've looked through your list, but I am not too great on actual screen part numbers.

Let me know if you have something,

Thanks!
