SSD causing system hang in Z61t

#1 Post by kenzking » Sun Oct 21, 2012 10:34 am

I recently upgraded my z61t to a mushkin 60GB ssd. It is very fast, except I am getting strange system hangs sometimes. It is running win7 and have all the system tweaks set up for SSD and its configured properly as far as I know.
What happens is shortly after bootup the hard drive light will stay lit solid, and the system will hang as if it cant read the SSD. It happens sometimes when win7 is loaded but mostly shortly after booting. After about a minute the hard drive light will stop staying solid and everything returns to normal.
After it does this a few times, it won't do it again until I reboot.... ?

Is this something set up wrong or is it possible that my SSD is defective? It has been doing this since I bought it and its been a few months now.

Any help would be much appreciated! It's getting so annoying I am considering going back to the old hard drive.

Mushkin SSDs have a rather bad reputation, judging by feedback on NewEgg...

I'd be returning it...

Good luck.
