Which WWAN Card for use on AT&T

#1 Post by Fixed_Rider » Sun Oct 21, 2012 10:01 pm

X6x'ers,

Do any of you fine folk know what WWAN card I need to convert my x61 from Verison to AT&T?
My thought was to pull the sim from my iPad2 and use it in the x61 for data whenis out and about.

Thanks for the help

Assuming that you don't want to install a modified BIOS which will accept any WWAN card, the X61 will accept a Lenovo-branded Sierra Wireless MC8775:

You will also need a microSIM-to-SIM card adapter:

Well, in that case, any WWAN card will work ... but keep in mind that you may still have to tape Pin-20 on the "unauthorized" card, lest the BIOS turns it off after booting and then the card is not seen at all by the operating system.
