#1 Post by TheAliveG » Wed Oct 24, 2012 3:05 am

Hey. i have Lenovo T400, with intel gma 4500MHD. Is there way to upgrade video card? coz i need to work with video little bit, but software just hangs... I have 4gb ram, and dual core processor (P8400)... GPU-z shows 32MB of video, windows shows - 64MB... Maximum memory - 1695MB... so can anybody help for me?

No easy way that I know of short of replacing the motherboard. A cheap desktop with a cheap GPU would probably be the better route.

Have a look HERE. From what I understand the T400/X200/T500 with Intel X4500MHD works well with certain Nvidia video cards (via eGPU). It might be worth a shot if you have some money to burn. If you do go this route please let us know if it works and how well it works! Thanks :)

we tried the same way, few years ago, but all parts, except PCIe, PSU, video card, was home made... and it works... really works... but performance was slower, than we expected... and it's kind of expensive... 70$... for that price, i can buy PC with normal performance...

Maybie some solutions for integrated graphics?

What are you trying to do? Why are you sure that the video card is your problem?

I see. Looks like there is no other solution: Change the motherboard or change the computer.
