Snow Leopard or Lion on Thinkpad X60 Tablet?

#1 Post by DocSmoke » Mon Nov 12, 2012 10:41 am

I'm not new to Hackintosh, but I recently bought this (Thinkpad X60) and I feel the need to hackintosh it. Now, I'm looking to do a distribution-based hackintosh rather than the retail method, mainly because I don't have a working Hackintosh/Mac, and transfer speeds between VirtualBox OS X and my flash drive are incredibly slow, and so is the VM itself, so I'm thinking it would be a ton easier/faster if I just did a distro install.

Now, what distro would I use if I were to do this? I've done some research, and I only found one thread (on this site, that's why I signed up) giving a proper tutorial on how to install iATKOS it on the X60s model. I figure that would work with my X60, but before I go downloading this distro and trying it, can somebody confirm this? Would it be possible to even run iATKOS L (lion) on this thing? Or would the retail method still be easier than all of these?

I know I've typed a novel already, but I want to add one more thing in here. If I were to use EmpireEFI (or something similar) to boot the unmodded OS X install image from a flash drive and just install the bootloader and kexts later, would that work? thanks in advance for helping ;3
