R61 upgrade questions

Evening all im new to the forum and am hoping to to gain some answers to some questions i have about my laptop.. I have a thinkpad r61 t7250 core 2 duo.. Which i would like to upgrade to a t9300 or t9500 c2d.. But im reading mixed views on whether i can?.. My laptop is running the intel 965 chipset and i believe the processors are both socket p types?.. Failing this has anybody got any overclocking tips? Many thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!

What's the full 7-character model number of that R61, located on the same sticker that holds the serial # (don't post that) and the production date of the unit? The sticker is located on the bottom of the laptop.

Hiya mate thanks for reply the type is a 8935-cto.. And the product ID is 8935w9p as for the production date im not too sure i bought it second hand for £80.. And depending on my upgrade options i mite well buy a new laptop with more graphics capabilities
