T43 - double keystroke on some keys

#1 Post by QWERTY Andreas » Sun Nov 18, 2012 2:34 pm

Hi. I have a T43 14 inch version
When i press some keys (ie. B) it will make two strokes (ie. "BF")

I have tried with another keyboard, from a 15" T43.. however no luck. With a external keyboard it works just fine.

Is there anyway to fix it?

best regards

A $20 keyboard from EBay would probably fix this. With some careful shopping you can get an 08K5044 "Made in Thailand" keyboard from NMB (the BEST ones available). It's only 4 screws and 3 mins to swap a keyboard. It's the simplest thing you can do with a thinkpad, even easier than popping the cover off the back and adding some RAM. You might gently try prying off the key and look for crud stuck beneath it, like hairs, perhaps that is pulling on other keys when you use it.

Lots of thinkpads (10+) but I would never be so stupid as to list them all because that would spam everybody's searches and people who *do* try to list them all would be jerks.
