x200s screen questions

#1 Post by Huxley » Sun Nov 18, 2012 7:09 pm

So I bought an x200s recently and so far it's been great. It might have a bit of wear and tear, but for a little more than a cheap netbook you get a whole lot more.

I do have a couple of questions/concerns I hope someone can help with, though.
  • The place I bought it from had two - the other one had a couple of blemishes on the screen which were clealy pressure marks from the mouse buttons. Although my screen is belmish-free, I would like to avoid this happening in the future. I've heard that placing a cloth between the keyboard and screen when it's closed can help, but will this really be enough? Has anyone else had this problem with their x200s?
  • Speaking of the screen, mine is a 1280 x 800 screen, which I've heard doesn't feature a rollcage but does have a magnesium lid. Is this the case? Because in all honesty it doesn't feel that sturdy - it clearly moves when I press gently on the back of the lid. This only makes me more worried about pressure marks on the screen itself. If I were going to carry this around in a bag, would a sleeve (plus the cloth maybe?) be enough protection to avoid this? Any opinions would be welcome.
Thanks!
