Display brightness

#1 Post by cfds » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:17 pm

Comparing the display brightness between my X40 and the X61s...

Left the X40 full bright and Right the X61s full bright...

To be honnest I just replaced today the CCFL backlight on the X40 LCD display but still, I have never been impressed with the maximum brightness of the X61s display.
Should I replace the CCFL light on my X61?

Your opinions?

Replaced the CCFL today on the X61. But it has not made any change in the display brightness.
Any other thing I can do to make the display brighter or should I start looking around for a replacement? It really bothers me, I find the brightness not really sufficicient during the day.

Unless you convert it somehow to LED-backlight, there's not much else you can do.

Been checking the internet and this seems to be the weakest point of the X61, its display brightness.
I really like this little laptop, for the stuff I do - surfing the net and doing some office work/mail etc its more than fast enough. Love the design/keyboard...
Upgraded to an SSD HD but thats how far I will go with it.
Have changed the display brightness in the Bios from normal to high, will see what this brings during the day.

Thinking now to replace the X61 with an X200 series...
I can pick-up the X200 at reasonable prices. Hell, I could even look at the X200 tablet...
Well, we will see, any experience from X200 series user would be welcome!
