Region Free

#1 Post by dd » Sat Apr 30, 2005 3:41 am

As I travel a lot to different countries, it would be nice to be able to update my firmware on my dvd drive so I dont have to keep changing the regions. I only have 4 more changes left . .

Can anybody help?

If you have a cdrw combo drive, you can do the following:
- use Software like DvdIdle
- patch Firmware (http://forum.rpc1.org/) but you still need additional Software (freeware)
- just use the VLC player (videolan.org, plays everything)

If you have a Matshita DVD Multiburner, you are out of luck. There is no way around as far as I know.

Use an application called AnyDVD.

Allows you to open any region DVD on your drive.
