R61i Monitor ?

Hello There ! My name is Kliment and i have a question . Is it possible to use my monitor on my thinkpad r61i as tv monitor ? In meaning to connect a dvd , playstation or other device and use the monitor as tv? I know its a newbie question but i will be glad if somebody can help me! Thank you in advance !

PS: I have s-video out port on the thinkpad .......

No, you can't.
The VGA and S-Video ports are for OUTGOING signals only.
But you can attach a TV-tuner via USB and then watch TV on your laptop's screen.

VGA port to display your LCD-picture onto an external monitor
S-Video to display your LCD-picture onto a TV.

Thank you it was very helpful ! I actually did it i set my tv as extended monitor . At the first time the picture was all blurry but its seems a magic happened this night and now the picture is ok

! Do you know how can i use the extended desktop to play video ?
