I am upgrading my hardware on my Z61t and wanted to upgrade my internal modem but what to establish a connect to it before remove it to upgrade it. I have been using a Belkin USB and it is working fine. When I remove it and go to the bios and set it up on enable; and then go to the modem box and configure and enable it there too. It shows up in the "Connect To" in the Startup Menu. Below is what comes up:
Internet Gateway shows Connected
Belkin USB Modem works but my Thinkpad internal
modem does not connect.
When to Device Manager to test it and it was good
and show the details of the card.
Under Network Connections:
Thinkpad Internal Wifi Network Connection
Not Connected.
No wireless networks were found in range.
Make sure the wireless switch on your computer is
on. to see an updated list, click "Refresh
netwrok list."
Connect button is recessed.
What is the wireless switch on the computer referring to?
How do I make the internal modem work to connect to my wifi wireless router?
Trouble reconnect with my Thinkpad internal modem
Re: Trouble reconnect with my Thinkpad internal modem
If I recall (don't have a Z61t right now), the wifi/bluetooth on-off switch is on the front edge just to the right of the headphone and microphone jacks.
BTW, what you are trying to connect with is a wireless network adapter. The internal modem is for connection to with a telephone line. You will have to plug a phone line into the modem jack to connect with it.

Re: Trouble reconnect with my Thinkpad internal modem
I sorry; I guess I use the wrong words this time; I mean my internal mini pci wifi card. I will check the keyboard and look for the on-off on the front right side.Neil wrote:If I recall (don't have a Z61t right now), the wifi/bluetooth on-off switch is on the front edge just to the right of the headphone and microphone jacks.

Thanks Neil!
P.S. Cannot believe the trouble I am running into in doing my upgrade. egh!
