I don't think so... poster said he would buy it if he weren't 'skint' -- apparently just wishful thinking. I think that may be a good price in UK Euros, but in US Dollars it would be pretty high

I have several X61's also -- my husband uses one (he think's it's his ) I use one for travel and one just to play with at home -- they are great machines. I didn't know the X61 even came 2.4 or 2.5 -- I'm guessing it would be a pretty awesome machine. I'm not sure, but I think $150 euro would equal $195 us -- makes this machine a bit on the high side here in the states.

Yeah, but Penryn X61 equipped with T8300 is MUCH faster than regular Merom-based X61 and so much cooler running.
And one more thing: enabling Dual-IDA additional multiplier clocks the CPU to 2.6 GHz, it just flies. My T601p Frankenpad has T8300 and in W7 WEI it gets score of 6.1. Not bad!

If it was coming from a reliable seller I'd say it was a great price for a penryn system, but you never know what you get on ebay, so I wouldn't buy it unless it was cheap, but from what I've seen thinkpads cost much more in uk, so maybe that is a cheap price. I actually just got an X61 penryn system, it was the only penryn out of a truckload of them so I figured I'd grab it.

It's not a big deal on T61 since the CPU is socketed.

It is a big deal on X61 because of the soldered CPU.

In general, X61 units with Penryns are far rarer than T61s with Penryns.
