Thanks Lenovo!

#1 Post by Davemci » Wed Dec 19, 2012 8:12 pm

So on 11/01/12 I ordered a S230U (Twist). Not sure if it's an edge or an idea notebook? It's a Christmas present for my wife. Expected shipment was 11/07/12. The ship date has been moved several times and has stayed at 12/31/12 for nearly 2 weeks.

Today (12/19/12) I get this e-mail from Lenovo.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your recent purchase of the Lenovo Thinkpad 3347CTO. The McAfee or Norton 2012 subscription you selected for your system does not support Windows 8 and the
2013 versions will not be available until 12/21/2012.
Unfortunately, we will be cancelling your order due to this Lenovo error. It will take about two or three days to process the cancellation of your order.

Seems like 12/21/2012 is a full 10 days before their ESTIMATED ship date. I called Lenovo and wasted my time for over an hour (45 minutes in queue). I have to reorder, be put at the end of the list and a 1/13/13 ship date and pay $329 more for the same system minus the anti-virus.

THANKS LENOVO

Demand for the new Twist appears to be much greater than Lenovo's expectations. They are sold out everywhere. That really sucks that they couldn't at least get you the same price.

Go on the Lenovo forums to talk to their reps and demand the same price that you originally ordered for. Since the cancellation is their fault, not yours, they have no reasonable right to deny you.

I suggest they offered a product at a given price and accepted payment ... ergo, they made a contract. I suggest you push this issue !
