First, you need to identify the FRU number of motherboard.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product ... ookup.page
http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/parts

Next, you need to search through parts description in buildsheet until you encounter the Planar Card...

For Example:
"SYSTMBRD FRU PLANAR CARD ASM INTEL C Y "

Next, you would like to have a motherboard which supports Penryn CPU(s).
T7100, T7300, T7500, T7700 & T7800 are T61 Merom CPU(s).

T8100, T8300, T9300, & T9500 are T61 Penryn CPU(s).
http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2_Duo_(Penryn)

Next, using FRU number of motherboard from buildsheet showing Planar Card...

Combining info from

and my notes from Tuus previous posts...

However, it is possible that your T7300 was mounted on a newer motherboard which supports both Merom and Penryn CPU(s).

Flash the BIOS with Middleton's and you're in business. A lot of other good features - such as SATA II support and whitelist removal - are in there as well.

As ajkula66 said. Running two T61 with T9300 with no problems. Flashed the BIOS, upgraded to 4 GB RAM and SSD, it's my everyday beater and runs pretty sweet.
