Can't receive files via BT

#1 Post by skopeko » Sun Dec 23, 2012 9:10 am

Hi,
I hope you can help.
Not sure if it is a specific Thinkpad T40 issue or more general.
I have a Thinkpad T40 Typ2373.
Today I've installed the actual BT driver from the Lenovo homepage.
(http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloa ... D=DS014056)

Sending files to other devices (Android tablet Acer A500, Sony Ericsson W995) works fine.
When I try to receive files from one of these devices I get an error message.
Item not accepted by other device or transfer forbidden by target device.

I think it is just a setting in the SW but I can't find it.

P.S: The Bluetooth exchange folder is not write protected.
P.S2: Bought LEGO Mindstorms for Christmas. Would like to communicate via BT ;)

Used to have problems transferring files between phones and computers too... But seems in the recent months the problem is mostly gone... Not sure if it's the phone updates or the computer updates though...

Cheers.

What Operating system?

I run Linux on my comps, but browse the phone storage on my SE TM506 just like any local folders when it is connected. I have not tried transfering from phone to comp (T60), just cut and paste. I think what you are looking for is called an obex server.

Yes, it looks like an OBEX issue.
I've uninstalled the IBM driver and can do at least some simple file transfer with the standard Microsoft driver.

Thanks

Stefan
