TP 600E: ERROR 19153 and 00191

#1 Post by Alberto » Thu Jun 17, 2004 5:36 am

Hi, I have an IBM Thinkpad 600E, with 128 mbyte RAM, 20 Gbyte HD Hitachi and with Win XP.
My battery pack was dead and I can't update the BIOS (I have the original INET22WW).
Win XP working fine, but yesterday Thinkpad return an 19153 error at boot time (after RAM check). At reboot the EasySetup displays 00191 error.
I have tried to remove 64 Mbyte of RAM and the laptop was started currectly.
I put again the 64 Mbyte RAM and still computer run ok (with 128 mbyte RAM).

After 8 hours, error 19153 has reappeared!

RAM works fine sometimes and sometimes not! Why?

Any ideas?
Perhaps backup battery low voltage?

Thanks a lot!
Cheers!

Alberto

I have found the problem!

I have found!
The problem is a RAM slot! I don't know why, perhaps the hot emanation of mainboard has caused a little gap on one slot of RAM. The module now is instable...
I will try to fix it with something....
In the meantime I have removed it!

bye,

Alberto
