t 43 freezes up after opening with new battery

Help please I have a t43 and up to this point have had no trouble with it,however recently it seemed that the battery would no longer hold a charge,so i ordered a new battery,now with the new battery,the laptop will power up and freeze,i have tried plugging in the lap top but it will only work correctly when the battery is removed,any suggestions,and any help would appreciated.

It's probably a cheap Chinese knock-off instead of an original IBM/Lenovo battery.
Put in a proper battery, and your problem should be solved.

Agreed. It might no be faulty though, i had a similar issue, my T42 wouldn't start with the battery in it. Once it was running I could push in the battery all the way in and it worked. Did a battery gauge reset (that's IBM for recalibration) and its fine now.
