VGA port doesn't work in Dock 2631

#1 Post by Slasher » Mon May 02, 2005 8:26 am

Hi!

Here is my story:

I bought a docking station 2631 on eBay but VGA port doesn't work when I plug in a display cable. The display "clicks" when I plug in the cable but the only thing I see on the screen is "No signal ..." bla bla bla. This is the second Dock that I got from the seller, the previous one had problems with PS/2, keyboard and VGA ports. With this one my mouse and keyboard work Ok (LAN; PCI etc also), but my monitor doesn't... :(

I wander what can be the reason? And if it is a problem with the port then how can I fix it.

Thank you

Could be your machine. Can you get anyone else with a TP to try it?

I tested the first one that I got with T30. With T30 it didn't work either.
I'll check the second one with same T30 again but I don't think that it will be much different.

When I connect the monitor directly to my laptop it works without any problem.

I have a couple of questions:
1) Is it posssible to fix the VGA port somehow.
2) Is it possible to use a DVI-to-VGA adapter to connect the CRT monitor via the DVI port. And will it work this way with my T20?

Thanks,

1) Depends what is broken
2) T20 has no DVI output - even with a dock.
