Microsoft Windows 8 on IBM ThinkPad X41 Tablet

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Sun Jan 13, 2013 7:08 pm

Has anyone ever installed Windows 8 on a ThinkPad X41 Tablet? How well does it work?

Also is their a diffrence between Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005? I needed to install Tablet edition on my X41T which someone made me a disc of Tablet PC Edition 2005 and I own the COA Key on the bottom of the X41T and tryed to use Windows key updater and it will not accept normal Tablet Edition over 2005. So I just have XP Home on it right now. If anyone would like to make a normal Tablet PC Edition disc for me, PM me, Dont need the CD-Key, unless selling me the real copy. Thanks...

I only tried the preview version of Win8 in my X41T, but it was not possible (at least for me) to install the graphic drivers, reducing quite a lot its usability. IIRC the final version got not better in that respect, there were some threads in the X4x subforum discussing this issue. I'd suggest to take a quick look at them.

Hope this helps!

So the IBM ThinkPad X60 Tablet probably would be better to run Windows 8 then the X41 Tablet. My X60T is not touch eaither as it can only use the stylus Pen. Is there a way to get they to read with touch by the finger? My IBM Transnote works with stylus and the finger touch.
