would you get a T430U?

#1 Post by kaitanium » Wed Jan 16, 2013 11:31 am

thinking about getting this laptop but looking for suggestions and opinions that i might have missed

these are the pros for me:
-semi removable, exchangeable battery - important since i dont plan to change my laptop every 2 years
-msata slot - allows me to put a msata ssd for boot and programs and use the main drive as storage
-size - its thin! (im coming from a heavy unibody macbook pro 15)
-price - under $800!

the only things i dont like is the weight over the t420s. beats me why a thinner laptop is heavier than a thicker one. i also dont like lenovos usage of 16:9 screens. 16:10 is very nice.

anyways, looking for suggestions and opinions that i might have missed that can inform me on my purchase. thanks!

Also, the T430u's resolution is only 1366x768, which is a crime for such a large screen. Get a T420s or T430s with 1600x900 instead.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
