Slow startup of fingerprint reader

After tweaking my partitions it seems the Fingerprint Reader is slow to start up. Already did a repair install of the software as well as a reinstall. Sometimes get a message the service has not started since last boot. Any fixes? I saw online about someone excluding it from antivirus scan on boot but I've always had it scanned and don't think its good practice to exclude it.

PS supposing I did want to exclude it which file should I exclude. I see it is in the Programs folder under Thninkvantage Fingerprint but don't know which file to exclude.
