On my T32 (still plugging away beautifully!!) with Windows 2000 Professional, I tried to access regedit.exe to clean out some junk
I get message "This operation has beeen cancelled due to restrictions on this computer"
I never ran into this before. Can anyone tell me what to do?
I don't know where to find answer.

Are you logged in as an administrator?

Is this your computer or a corporate machine? Corporate admins often like to lock users out of stuff they can use to break things.

If it is your machine and you are admin, then to open Local Security Policy, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Local Security Policy.
