R60 1440x1050

#1 Post by rhoadsfan » Wed Jan 30, 2013 8:15 pm

So I'm thinking about fixing up my old R60 to use as a note-taking machine, and I'm browsing eBay for panels when I find this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-Philips-Lapt ... 35be05b2a6

Would this work with my R60 ? It seems almost too good to be true, but the seller has excellent feedback.

If it matters, it had a 1024x768 panel in it originally.

Welcome to the forum!

What's the full 7-character model number of your R60, located on the same sticker that holds the serial number and production date on the bottom of the machine?

As for the panel, it *might* work provided you flash the EDID, since *60 series are allergic to non-Lenovo-issued LCDs and mostly plain refuse to boot with them installed.

It's 9456-6HU. If this LCD does work, I'm also putting a T7200 in there as well. Should be a nice upgrade.

Thanks for the heads up on compatibility. Would flashing the EDID possibly brick it? It's no loss if it does, just curious.
