[SOLD]: Extreme T601p Frankenpad /w T8300 & FX570M

#1 Post by Raceboy » Fri Feb 01, 2013 9:19 am

Due to need to finance my race-car build I need to sell some of my laptops and my beloved Frankenpad is the first one to go to market.

It is based on late T60 and aside from few wear marks on the lid, it looks almost like new.

Specs:
Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4 GHz Penryn CPU, with Dual-IDA I have used it at 2.6 GHz and it is very snappy. T61p heatsink, very efficient. CPU and GPU run cool and GPU never exceeds 75 C.
4 GB RAM
128GB Crucial C300 SSD running at SATAII speeds. Can sell without SSD
DVD Multiburner
Quadro FX 570M graphics card. The fastest you can put in this machine. The donor system was bought with full history, no abuse and no failures. Guaranteed no DOA!
Brand new Boe-Hydis UXGA 1600x1200 IPS FlexView LCD panel . It is very bright and has absolutely stunning colors.
9cell original Lenovo Panasonic battery, holds 4+ hours of charge. In GREEN.
NMB keyboard
Integrated smart card reader (from 4:3 T61), very nice and convenient option (at least for me, Estonian ID-card allows bank transfers, voting on elections, email authentication etc etc).

Machine has proper T61p clearplates, is very silent and fast.

I'm asking 450 euros for this machine which is a bargain considering the upgrades.Shipping is ~€20 to Europe, ~40€ to US/Canada.

I need this sold quick, after the hurry is gone, I may not sell it at all.

EDIT: Sold to a forum member, thanks a lot!

You might want to correct the title from "T601p" to "T61p". Good luck with the sale.

This is not a T61p, it's a hybrid composed of T60 and T61p parts. These are often referred to as T60/61 frankenpads, T60/1, T601, T601f (f=frankenpad). There is no right or wrong way to list it, but his title is accurate.

I see; I had no idea there was a notation for frankepads. The more you know.

I just have to say, this is a thing of beauty. Absolutely amazing machine you have there. It's too bad you are selling but the next owner will sure be happy. Just fantastic.

Thanks a lot!
I know I'm going to regret this and feel the need to build another one but it is very possible that it won't sell and I can keep it.

I ordered a WWAN antenna for the LCD also so it will receive Ericsson F5521gw WWAN card then.

Already installed 6300-N wireless card in it, greatly reduced heat over 4965AGN.

I was thinking about soldering the 3rd miniPCIe slot also to the system board, could make use of it though a bit limited choice (being half-height and USB compliant only), though there are options.
It requires modifying the magnesium frame a bit though.
