ThinkPad R52 18466NA good for games?
Well, it has a speedy 1.86GHz processor and a 64MB PCI Express graphics card. My purpose is to play a few games and get some schoolwork done. Mostly it'll be used for playing games like Warcraft 3. So, is the R52 good for me?
Well.....it will run Warcraft and other current games OK, no doubt. But there are argueably other notebooks that are better for gaming...but they may not be as duarble, or reliable, or if repairs are ever needed it may not be so EZ to get that done...I wouldn't buy one of those other notebooks unless it was literally going to sit on a desk all the time, and yet even then I probabally wouldn't buy the other brand...

Not likely as far as the R and X series are concerned. Those are currently manufactured by the Taiwanese company Wistron, which is an ODM of fairly good reputation. If you go the forum here about IBM selling the PC Division, you'll see my thread on this - according to The Inquirer, Lenovo will keep using that ODM. Nothing will change as far as the manufacture of those machines.
Now the T series is made by IBM and Great Wall Technologies, so that's another situation entirely...

P.S And TPs look cool also...
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!
Well, finally ordered it. Waiting for IBM to ship it over. Can't wait to have that thing in my bedroom...
P.S My old PIII Compaq Presario laptop refuses to detect my USB thumb drive, probably due to the fact that it knows that it is going to be replaced... (j/k). So, I'm thinking of pulling the HD out from that thing and putting it in my new TP for transferring my data. What should I do? Order that Ultrabay HD thing? (Forgot the name of it).
