I have problem that after installing Lenovo Hotkey features driver nothing on scrren is visible - sound, brightness, Led lamp etc. Lenovo at ist driver site says - Windows 8 capable. All drivers are from Microsoft via update, ATI radeon X1400 I was download from Microsoft catalogue site.

This is a Windows 8 problem, NOT a T60 problem!

Re: T60 Windows 8 - Hotkeys problem
When you say Hotkeys, I assume you mean both the brightness/sound with the display bars on the screen, and the Fn key combinations?
These all work on my T60 / Win8, except Fn+F8 that only takes me to the general mouse properties box and not the Lenovo Ultra-Nav menu. I however think I installed most of the drivers and system software in various compatibility modes, Win7, Vista and XP SP3. A couple of them were labeled to be Win8 compatible, but I think even one of these refused to install properly unless I did it in compatibility mode. So no exact clues to help you out here, but at least you know that it is possible to make it all work.
I also saved all the files I downloaded. So I can email my Hotkey driver file to you in case there is an issue that something has changed since I downloaded my drivers. But it's only 3 weeks ago, so I doubt that is the case.

Try an older version of Hotkey Features. See following post for more info.

Re: T60 Windows 8 - Hotkeys problem
I have not found a way to get Fn + F3, Fn + f4 to work on mine (T61). The rest work properly including the On-screen display.
As far as I can tell, there is no W8 Power Manager available from Lenovo still. Only a Power Manager Driver. Am I correct on this or am I missing something?

I don't think the T60 supports W8. W8 sounds like a complete disaster. Aight.

Re: T60 Windows 8 - Hotkeys problem
My T60 is running W8 with all functions working (Power Manager, Hotkeys.....) and no issues whatsoever. Very fast boot-time (15-20secs) and crisp performance. At last Microsoft made something usable.....

Re: T60 Windows 8 - Hotkeys problem
Well, just today I did the stupid thing of going into "System Update". There was 3 important updates available, Thinkpad Hotkey integration driver (version 3.84.1500.0), Lenovo Patch Utility and Active protection system. I ticked the two first ones, since I use SSD, I do not need the last one.
So I installed the two. I do not think, that the "Patch utility" did any harm, but the update of the Hotkey driver made my OSD not working
Fortunately, I made a restore point prior to this update, so I implemented this and now the Hotkey functions are working again
So in other words, the last Hotkey driver do not seem to work under Win8, I believe, that the former one (which is working fine) was the one for Win7.

Re: T60 Windows 8 - Hotkeys problem
Yes that's true for the OSD, at least for all the "pre-Windows 8" era ThinkPads. I posted a link to the older version of the hotkey features driver above.hhmcsv wrote:So in other words, the last Hotkey driver do not seem to work under Win8, I believe, that the former one (which is working fine) was the one for Win7.

Re: T60 Windows 8 - Hotkeys problem
Actually, the older version is not necessary if you install the latest version by changing its setup.exe file to Windows 7 compatibility.
At least it works well on my x220.

X220(Win8.1pro)~T60p~X100e(Win8pro)~S10~X31~X40~T42~T43~560X~600X
X220 not a T60
The original thread was on a T60. An X220 being a much newer machine is likely to have fewer problems with W8, or at least easier to fix.

Hi.
Yes. Only older hotkeys and osd software version 3.81 works.
